I took Immersion a few years ago. Bonnie is an excellent and thorough teacher. And even though I've been a graphic designer since 1995... or maybe because I've been a designer for so long, it was very useful to see exactly how to use Adobe Illustrator effectively.
I've designed four fabric collections with Windham Fabrics... all on Illustrator, and all before I took Immersion. Seeing how to use Illustrator now was illuminating! I certainly was doing things the hard way before.
Other than the spine designs that grace each issue of UPPERCASE magazine, I haven't had time to create a new collection for a very long time. So, by enrolling again in Immersion, I plan to update my skills and make some new designs.
This year's format of the course is "documentary style," as Bonnie describes it. I've already watched the welcome videos waiting in Immersion when you enroll, and they are lovely. Bonnie and her team have done a great job. This is a pleasant, pretty and inspiring way to learn about surface design—both the technical skills of Illustrator, but also the mindset and confidence required for marketing yourself and pitching a portfolio.

And just so you know, when I do a group call for Immersion students, everyone in the group can share their work and get feedback. It's like a series of one-on-ones, but everyone can listen in—you learn a lot more! The group call is scheduled once Immersion is completed.
