Pay~What~You~Can Art Tutorials by Maria Overlay
These classes are offered as pay-what-you-can because I truly believe that art should be accessible to everyone—no matter your circumstances. Whether you’re just starting or returning to your creative path, I want you to feel inspired, supported, and free to explore art in your own unique way. Each class includes a supply list, a reference image and outline, and a full video tutorial—I'll be guiding you with my voice step-by-step as we paint together in this pre-recorded tutorial! You’ll be able to watch the class on my website for one month. After that, it’ll be added to my Patreon archive, where for just $5/month, you’ll get access to all past tutorials too. Then to keep things fresh and fun a new class will be available on my website! 🌿 Instagram / Website

Outsiders and Others
Hello, I'm Ginger Sedlarova, a collage artist from British Columbia, and I'm also a new UPPERCASE subscriber! I'm sharing a postcard call for a non-profit organization I volunteer for, Outsiders and Others, here in Vancouver. It's a fundraiser for a fantastic organization, run as a one-person show by Yuri Arajs to help artists who don't get traditional chances in the art world. Yuri can describe their mandate better: "Outsiders and Others is a non-profit art Society with a focus on bringing non-traditional artists to the forefront. These artists identify as outsider, folk, self-taught, visionary, intuitive, and artists with disabilities. We offer professional curated exhibition opportunities; creative mentorship opportunities for artists identifying with disabilities; exhibition assistance with framing; pay artists 75% of all art sales; we pay exhibiting artists an exhibition honourarium; and so much more." Yuri is excited to accept postcards in all sorts of styles and media, so I think your readers might like the challenge of making their art on a small surface such as a postcard. https://www.outsidersandothers.com/news

Free Course: Compare Procreate, Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator: A Comprehensive Guide by Esther Nariyoshi
Struggling to pick the right digital art program? We've all been there—staring at endless tutorials, wondering if we're using the "best" tool for our style.
This free course cuts through the confusion by putting Procreate, Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator through the exact four identical creative challenges. We're talking real artwork and real-time creation—not another feature breakdown.
You'll watch identical projects unfold: black ink drawings, colourful compositions, native sketching, and watercolour effects: three programs, three completely different approaches.
Perfect whether you're just starting out or ready to make a switch. By the end, you'll finally understand when Procreate's magic feels right, when Photoshop's power becomes necessary, and when Illustrator's precision serves your vision.
No more second-guessing or jumping between apps, hoping to find your groove. This is your roadmap to confident software choices that actually support how YOU create.

The UPPERCASE Archive & re:issue
re:issue collects articles from my archive of back issues and republishes them online. It's a great way to access ideas from old issues—plus you get access to the digital archive (I've got all issues from #1 through #37 posted so far!)
Lines can be straight, or they can squiggle. They can start and end, or go on for infinity. This month, I will be sharing content from past issues that is inspired directly or indirectly by lines, stripes, ledgers, horizons, linotype, rulers, alignment and throughlines.
The UPPERCASE Archive is a growing resource of out-of-print UPPERCASE magazine back issues presented as digital flip-through editions. With over 50 out-of-print issues, there’s an incredible abundance of inspiration available in this digital UPPERCASE library. The first 37 issues are now available, with more to follow.
