It's the July edition of The Pattern Journal! I'm happy to share various reader submissions. I've curated some that have a holiday or beach theme...
These featured designs are by Latifa Righi:
My name is Latifa, and I'm an Algerian surface designer and illustrator. My studio is Jasmine Blooms Designs. Although my background is in architecture, I fell in love with pattern design and dedicated my full time and energy to it while being a mom to my two lovely daughters. I enjoy spending time on my iPad, creating collections, and following my creative muse. My inspiration comes from nature, and I love illustrating botanicals, animals, and exploring fun ideas while maintaining commercial appeal. I describe my work as modern, fun, infused with colour and joy. You can find my designs in the wild in bolt fabric, stationery, apparel, and home decor. Some of my licensees include: Felicity Fabrics, Pbs Fabrics, Denik, Yiume, and Hawthorne Supply Co. Besides licensing my work, I also enjoy making Procreate resources for creatives like brushes and templates, and teaching others through creative conferences. Instagram / Website

Hey! My name is Sara Maese and I am an illustrator, surface pattern designer and GIF animator from the south of Spain, where I live with Jimmy and Sheldon, my two cats. My work is vibrant, organic, cheerful, quirky and colourful. I love playing with different techniques for the creation of my illustrations that have tons of sassy and cheeky characters. Summer Prints by Anna Hartzog
Summer for me means bright colors mixed with serene ocean blues, juicy fruits, tropical motifs, island inspirations, beachy elements and fun layouts. My summer prints are hand painted with watercolor or watercolor pencils on paper. They are then arranged and edited digitally. I was born on a tropical island, lived as a child on an island, and have been inspired by my travels in California and Australia. The beach and all things tropical are my first loves.
