Using the vintage stencils featured on the cover of issue #67, I recreated this alphabet that subscribers can print out onto the kraft mailer: cut out the letters and use them as a second-generation stencil!
You'll find an array of UPPERCASE "krafts" that reuse and upcycle the kraft mailer in creative ways over here on my website. If you don't have a kraft mailer from an UPPERCASE subscription or single-copy purchase of the magazine from my website, you can use a cereal box.
Issue 67 shipping update: Canada Post is in motion again, thankfully, and this afternoon, I received the copy of #67 that I had mailed to myself before the strike began. Glue: all preorders have shipped and all new orders are shipping this week.
The discount 'keepgoing' gives CA$10 off a print subscription/renewal.

Do you love UPPERCASE magazine but have only heard about it more recently? Did you know that the magazine has been around for 16 years? There's a wealth of back issues to discover—most long out of print—that are now available digitally.
The fall edition of Making Zen is coming up later this month. It's a 5-day event featuring 30 expert artists who will demonstrate new techniques and ideas about mindful stitching. It's free to sign up—you have access to each day's sessions of videos for 24 hours, or you can invest in a VIP ticket to retain access to the recordings to watch at your leisure (plus other bonuses).
UPPERCASE is a promotional partner for Making Zen and earns a commission on sales resulting from these links. Thank you.
Illustration Creative Brief: The Elements of Creativity The classic four elements—earth, water, air and fire—have long been themes and motifs in visual art. How would you use one or all of these elements to express yourself as an illustrator? Using these elements either literally or metaphorically, create an illustration that communicates your ideas about creativity and/or your career as an illustrator. REQUIRED DIMENSIONS: 7.125" wide by 9.625" tall at 300dpi, saved as a jpg. Deadline: October 20 at 5pm MDT
How do the elements (earth, water, air and fire) inspire, inform or affect your art or craft? For example, do you make things out of earth? Is water (or ice) integral to your process? Does air, wind, or weather factor into your creation? Do you make prints with sunlight or need the heat of a flame to create?
