I've been nurturing my geraniums indoors since September—I made a cutting off the mother plant, but I wanted to preserve the beauty of this flower stem.
Maybe it will inspire your creativity in some way?
Design of the next issue of UPPERCASE is just days away from completion! It's issue #68, Jan-Feb-March 2026, but it goes to the printer next week so that it can be printed and mailed in early December. The hope* is that it will get into the postal system before the holiday rush and arrive with readers (in North America, at least) around Christmas.
Please subscribe, renew and spread the word about UPPERCASE magazine.
This evening, I'm going to design the masthead and spine pattern. Cover reveal coming next week!
The discount 'keepgoing' gives CA$10 off a print subscription/renewal.
*Let's all hope for no production delays, an end to postal strikes and no other unforeseen challenges!

This week's updates
DONATED Yesterday, I donated $2,000 to UNICEF Canada's humanitarian efforts in Gaza (we had $1,867 in net sales from late July through October 31, so I rounded it up). 100% of sales of Little U are donated to UNICEF; we have raised $53,000 since 2018. ❤️
FULFILLED My fulfillment partner is completely caught up on shipping all orders. Not very exciting to all of you, I suppose, but it's a relief for me to see that the backlog is now taken care of, following their move to a new location in mid-October. Having a fulfillment partner who packs and ships orders has been really important for my one-person business. I've worked with several fulfillment companies since 2007, but this one is the best of the bunch. My thanks to everyone at ShipApollo.
STENCILLED "Creativity thrives on constraints." See how in the current issue—available as part of a subscription, renewal or on its own.
ARRIVED The shipment of Glue books and issue #67 has arrived with Central Books in London. If you're in the UK, get your Glue book from Central Books.

“I can’t get enough of Glue!!!”
“So inspirational, so nourishing for the eyes and soul.”
Botanica is Volume B in the UPPERCASE Encyclopedia of Inspiration. Originally published in 2017, the first print run sold out quickly. A reprint in 2020 sold out, and I brought back this perennial favourite for a third reprint a year ago this month. This is UPPERCASE's most beloved book!

I used to subscribe to the indie print magazine, Offscreen, a well-written publication with excellent interviews that explored the tech industry from a human perspective. While his print magazine is on pause, editor Kai Brach has continued to send out Dense Discovery, a weekly newsletter with "thoughtfully curated links from a noisy web."
I've been reading Kai's work for over a decade. I recall that we had a nice chat over coffee and breakfast during a trip I took to Melbourne ten years ago. His projects and newsletter are always assembled with an eye towards sustainability, good design and an illuminating human-centred approach to how technology informs our present, both in positive and negative ways.
* * * My newsletter is built and sent using Kit. I'm going to start exploring their Recommendations feature. If your newsletter is hosted on Kit, I'd be grateful if you recommended UPPERCASE, thank you. I will start with Karyn Valino. the workroom was UPPERCASE magazine's very first stockist in 2009! Karyn is also profiled in my Notions book.

Our community is always the first to hear about our workshop updates, new deliveries, events and sales for both our Parkdale & Sprucedale locations. We look forward to sharing our updates with you every Friday.
The first years of UPPERCASE magazine are long out of print, but now they're available digitally. Try the UPPERCASE Archive! Sign up for a month or go all-in for a full year. The first 52 issues of the magazine are waiting to be rediscovered.
