Yesterday, for my self-declared Make Something Monday, I played with my first-ever Gelli plate and various inks and paints. My favourite moment was overprinting the plate onto some brush-and-ink lettering "failed" experiments made during the design of issue 68. The more I print over them, the better they look!

Surface Design Survey

Little U is a trio of publications that were inspired by being a mom. Little U is the offspring of UPPERCASE magazine, for the young at heart. (Think of it as a smaller and cuter version of UPPERCASE!) With childlike wonder, Little U explores making, designing, illustrating and living. Highlighting children's books, surface pattern design, clothing and product design for young folk, and arts and crafts inspired by and/or made for children, this publication inspires and informs professional creatives and families alike. The series will likely remain a trilogy, since my son is 15 and we're no longer surrounded by all the cute, small things of early childhood. But we are both so proud of these little books, and the love and goodness that they have created in the world. These little bookazines have raised $53,000 for UNICEF Canada since 2018.
