Good things in print!

Dear Reader,

Proofs have been proofed!

Looking through the proofs for UPPERCASE #71 (Oct-Nov-Dec), I can say that it is an excellent edition; new and returning contributing writers, photographers and illustrators have done an amazing job. In keeping with my focus on "concentrating" my efforts on what matters most—for UPPERCASE magazine, that's publishing and supporting writers and artists and their human-made ideas—funds saved by lowering the print run have gone towards more original content.

Mailing data for this next issue will be compiled in two weeks, so now's a good time to subscribe, renew or give a gift subscription. (Subscriber address changes here, please.)

With this issue out of my hands for a bit, now is a also a good time for me to take some time away to visit family.

I'll see you later!

A note on Trump tariffs:
UPPERCASE magazines and books remain free of tariffs when sent to the USA. The various US tariffs do not affect UPPERCASE publications, which are exempted under "informational materials." However, the current 50% tariff threat, which could take effect tomorrow, would impact many Canadian small business stationery friends who sell journals, planners and notebooks into the USA. These tariffs are unjustified. Please refer to my Help page for more info about customs and shipping outside of Canada; any duties required by the importer's country are the responsibility of the customer to manage and pay. Know your country's import rules and limits before placing an order.

WARNING: This is important for folks in the USA: On Friday, the CDC arbitrarily changed the colour-coding on their map so that COVID wastewater levels are perceived to be lower, changing the thresholds for category designations that use "cooler" colours.

❤️ COVID is a threat to your health year-round. Wear a respirator! Clean the air. Stay up-to-date on vaccinations. Stay home if you're sick (and protect your household members from getting infected, too). It's as important as ever to take precautions against COVID infection. Don't make waves!
