I'm immersed in the quiet* work of writing the Jot book. I wrote another 12,000 words this past week, which feels good. I don't have a grand word count in mind, but rather an overall tempo between words and images. I feel really connected to this subject matter and the people profiled within; my hope is that my readers will feel that kinship, too.
Crafting a book from concept to writing through to design is such a fulfilling process. Having my own publishing company allows me to indulge (ie work really, really hard) on all aspects of making a book.
Thank you to all of you enthusiastic supporters, who make independent book-making possible!
Since I've been immersed in writing, I don't have any new images to share with you this week. Nor have I made any promo videos for the forthcoming UPPERCASE magazine issue #71. I suppose that's part of keeping things quiet over here so that I can concentrate on writing.
*If you ever wonder how I'm able to get so much done: quiet concentration. That's the secret. It's a combination of determination and focus. I understand what I'm trying to doβboth from the bigger picture, but also knowing what small steps I need to do to accomplish it. And I know why. I focus on the destination but make sure that I enjoy the process to get there.
